Duncan Newman, a British expatriate, moved to California in 1982, where he gained much experience in the construction and home remodeling industry, working in Rancho Santa Fe, Los Angeles, and New York. He also spent time abroad working in Canada and Spain. During that time, Duncan recognized a need for a higher level of service and while working on a multi-million dollar project he was inspired to start his own construction company. He believed he could make a difference by offering an exceptional level of service to the average homeowner.
In 1993 he opened Newman Replacement Windows to create a window company with a difference, offering high-quality products with professional in-house installation at a competitive price.

The Newman Advantage was born through a vision to elevate the customer experience — to treat them like true VIP’s. This encompasses values like on-time service, professionally trained technicians, free in-home estimates, and stellar customer service.
This advantage gave Newman Replacement Windows an advantage over its competitors. Customers were happy, growth was inevitable.
Create a Vision for Exceptional Growth
The company grew over time and in 2008, Newman Replacement Windows expanded to serve customers in Orange County. Although Orange County has many different attributes, Duncan was confident he could serve homeowners with the same level of excellence.
Through the years, Newman Windows and Doors has grown from a small mom-and-pop business to a fully functioning professional business. They now have three locations, a large fleet of vehicles, and a team of installers to serve customers in San Diego and Orange Counties. Although the company has grown, the core mission has not. They still offer exceptional service to every homeowner.
Clarify With an Exceptional Name
In 2019, Newman Replacement Windows became Newman Windows and Doors to better reflect the overall scope of the company. Most customers were not aware that the company also supplied doors. The name changed, but the high company standards did not.
